The Hippychick Hipseat is one of the best baby items I have ever purchased.  It is not very well advertised, nor is it prominently on the shelves in baby stores.  It is however the most talked about item amongst my friends.  I received my Hippychick as a baby shower present and that is how I came to love it.

I used the Hippychick for both of my kids since they were about 6 months old and able to sit up. In fact I still use the Hippychick now. At first I would use it for short trips (from the car to the grocery store), or to carry them around the house. Once they turned 9 months old, both of my boys outgrew the weight requirement for the Baby Bjorn Synergy (my actual baby carrier).

Basically, the Hippychick Hipseat is a removable lightweight seat for your baby.  You just wrap it around your waist with the velcro strap – snap the buckle and you are ready to go.  This is the perfect item once your baby is too big for the baby carrier.  Your baby just sits on the seat, which allows the weight on your back to be evenly positioned and gives you one free arm to maneuver around with. It also allows you to carry your baby for longer periods of time without getting tired or feeling a strain.

The Hippychick Hipseat is one baby product that I support 100% and has never let me down. I have converted many people into proud owners (I swear Hippychick owes me some sort of commission).

The Hippychick is sold at Mothercare and Mother’s Work Baby in Singapore for approximately SG$78. Since this is a product from the UK, it is not readily available in the USA, but is sometimes sold on Amazon.

Extra “Super” Tip:  I also use the Hippychick Hipseat as a seat-belt for my son when he is in a shopping cart.
