It’s Halloween time, which means tons of fun parties and lots of spooky treats!! For this years Halloween bash, try making this super easy “Monster” Marshmallow Pops. Unlike normal cake pops, these are very quick & simple to make.
Monster marshmallow pops require no baking and very little skill. Best of all the look AMAZING when they are done and taste yummy too!
Things You Need
- Large or XL Marshmallows
- Candy Melts
- Colored Straws
- Shortening
- Candy Eyeballs
- Halloween Sprinkles (orange, black, green or purple)
- Black Pen (edible ink for decorating) – optional
Approximate time: After all the ingredients are set-up, it takes about 30-45 seconds to make each pop.
Step-by-Step “How to Make Halloween Marshmallow Pops”
Step 1: Insert the straws into the marshmallows and put them aside.
Step 2: Heat up the candy melt using the instructions on the packet. Add a half teaspoon of shortening to candy melts to make it smooth. You can heat it up a little bit more until you get the right consistency.
Step 3: Cover the marshmallows with the candy melts. It is up to you how much of the marshmallow you want to cover. You can dip the marshmallow into the candy melts and then use a spoon to smooth it around the marshmallow.
Step 4: Decorate the marshmallow pop with eyeballs, candy corn and Halloween sprinkles. They can all be different – feel free to get creative!
Step 5: Stand the marshmallow pop upright to dry. At least 30 minutes.
Step 6 (optional): Wrap the decorated marshmallow pop in a clear bag & tie a ribbon around it. This way kids can save them to eat later.
Step 7: Display in a spooky manner for your Halloween party guests!!
Hope you get more treats than tricks this year! Happy Haunting.
