With so many magicians, balloon artists, laser tag companies, bouncy castles and more, it’s hard to figure out exactly who to hire and what type of entertainment to have at your child’s party. This year for Xavion’s 6th Birthday Shark Pool party, we wanted to have entertainment + some education + science fun; this is why we decided to have “Mad Science” come to our party.
For those have you that have never experienced a Mad Science party, let me fill you in. Mad Science is a global science enrichment provider in Singapore; they are known for providing unique entertaining and educational hands-on science experiences. Best of all at a Mad Science party the kids are engaged, learning and love being part of the action!
Mad Science provides a variety of Science related birthday party themes ranging from Dinosaurs, Space Frontiers, Icky Gooey Bubbly and more. For Xavion’s birthday party we decided to go with the “Air Blast” theme. All we had to provide was the small table, the rest was up to the Mad Scientist to teach & entertain the 6 year old party goers.
Here are some of the highlights of our Mad Science party experience…
From the start the kids were all engaged and curious to find out what all the test tubes, beakers, balls and apparatus would be used for.
The kids first learned how sound waves are created by waving around the groovy cord.
Next the kids challenged the Mad Scientist to fill up a windbag with just 1 breath!
Then the kids got to meet “Eggbert” the two inch Mad Science Assistant who couldn’t get into his house. By using the the science of air pressure they were able to get him into a flask with an extremely narrow neck.
Volunteers were challenged to make a ping pong ball float, with none succeeding.
Then they watched as the Mad Scientist made a ping ball and beach ball float in the air!
Fun with Rockets
Since this was an “air blast” party, we decided to do a special party add-on with rockets! The kids literally had a “blast”. We started the outdoor experience with the “Gushing Geyser” rocket experiment.
Stand back and watch the geyser explode….
Next the Mad Scientist launched a rocket into the sky! 1-2-3, blast off!
The rocket takes off into the sky, but where did it land? Watch and see for yourself in the video below….
The Science Behind “Icky-Gooey Slime”
At the end of the Mad Science experience all the kids got to make their own icky-gooey slime and learned the science behind combining certain elements to create a liquidy substance that resembles slime.
The slime container came with a lid and the kids were able to take it home and enjoy some more even after the party was over.
SuperMommy’s Party Review
My boys and I have attended many Mad Science parties and workshops over the years and they never fail to impress. The staff is very professional and has a solid program in place for a variety of ages.
At Xavion’s party, the kids all had an amazing time with Mad Science. Many of the parents also commented on how great the program was and were pleased that their kids were not only engaged, but also learning in the process. My personal favorite experiment was the outdoor rocket launch. This really got the kids excited and on the edge of their toes trying to see what would happen next – definitely a crowd pleaser.
The experiments done by Mad Science really resonate with the kids. After attending the party, my 8 year old son Zayden now wants to do a rocket experiment for his school Science Fair project. I highly recommend having Mad Science at your child’s birthday party – it’s quality party entertainment plus a learning experience that kids of all ages will enjoy.
Super Thanks to Mad Science for coming to Xavion’s 6th Birthday party and providing such an awesome experience for the kids!! We are looking forward to attending more Mad Science events in the future! 🙂
Special Mad Science Party Promotion – Just mention “SuperMommy” when booking a party to receive Mad Science “diffraction glasses” for all the kids at the party!!
Good Luck and hope you have an awesome party!!!
