Have you been to Downtown East recently? If not, you definitely need to check it out – it has become a total lifestyle hub for all ages!

A few weeks ago, we attended the “Downtown East 30” anniversary celebration and had a total blast. Uncle Ringo was there with a variety of carnival rides and games, like the Meteorite, Bumper Cars, Ghost Train and more.

At the Food Bazaar, there was an array of culinary treats by local Singapore vendors serving unique food and live performances by The Sam Willows, THELIONCITYBOY, Sam Rui, Jack & Rai, Boon Hui Lu, Scarlet Avenue, Abbey Tan and Sufie. There was even a lucky draw every 30 minutes, with $300 cash prizes and 1 grand prize of $10,000 cash!

Aside from a super activity filled day at the carnival, I realized that Downtown East has now become an awesome place (different from what I remember) for families and adults to hang out.

Let me go over some of the new things that are now happening at refreshed Downtown East….

Lots of Family Friendly Fun Places

Downtown East has become a great place for family fun! In addition to the many dining and shopping options, there are also lots of activities that kids and adults can enjoy together.

For starters, “Wild Wild Wet”, the water park that we all know and love at Downtown East, has actually increased in size and is huge! Wild Wild Wet is now is double in size and has a total of 16 rides and attractions!

Another place the kids are sure to love is Tayo Station. Tayo Station is themed around the South Korean animated series (Tayo The Little Bus) that follows Tayo and his little bus friends who often discover new sights and go on exciting adventures every day in the big city!

Tayo Station spans a massive 10,000-square-feet-space that integrates indoor playground attractions, edutainment area and sensory play space for young children from 1 to 12 years old. These include the Tayo’s Road Circuit, Poco’s Hinoki Play, and Gani’s Playground, and many more that is created to entertain while offering a healthy level of challenge for the kids to overcome.

Some other family fun things to do while hanging out at Downtown East are zooming around in the GoGreen segways, bowl at Orchid Bowl, watch a movie at Cathay Cineplex and much more.

Revamped Market Square

Downtown East has also revamped it’s Market Square, with a refreshed look and many new dining, shopping, lifestyle and entertainment options. Some of the new outlets include UNIQLO, Melben Seafood Restaurant, Flaming Spice – just to name a few. A perfect hangout for foodies and shoppers alike.

A Late Night Spot to Eat, Drink & Play

Best of all, Downtown East now offers many late night options for those nights when the kids are in bed and you want to go out with your friends to “eat, drink & play”.

For some late night activity, get a group together and play a game of darts at Forest4 Darts Cafe, which has over 20 electronic soft-tip dart boards. If you are a dart pro, you might even consider entering into one of their in-house tournaments.

If music is your more your tune, then you can check out the new OBar Live House, where you can listen to live music, while having your dinner or enjoying a beer.

Or if you would rather just showcase your own singing talent, you can karaoke the night away at the new  Teo Heng KTV Studio outlet in Downtown East.
