Are you looking for a simple, yet creative craft project for your kids? The Featured Super Mom Gayatri shows us how to make our own Stained Glass Window at home.  This is a great project for kids of all ages – even toddlers and preschoolers can make these with a little bit of help. Each Stained Glass Window can be as simple or as complex as you desire, depending on the patterns you cut out and the colors you choose. The best part is that once the craft is finished, the kids will love staring at all the different colors as they shine through the window.

Things You Will Need:

  • Large piece of paper or cardboard
  • Colored cellophane (as many different colors as you like)
  • Pencil
  • Scotch tape
  • Scissors
  • Stencils (optional)

How to Make A Stained Glass Window:

Step 1Using your pencil draw shapes on the paper in any fun pattern, like circles, squares, diamonds triangles, stars etc.  You can either draw the shapes freehand or use stencils or household objects to make your shapes. The shapes do not need to be symmetrical. Just let your kids have fun.

Step 2Cut out the different shapes that you have made on the paper.

Step 3: Cut the cellophane into the shapes. You can also try cutting the cellophane into strips to make stripes, or circles to make polka dots.

Step 4: Tape the cellophane to the paper. Make sure you cover all of the cut-out shapes.

Step 5: Tape the paper to your window.

Step 6: Stand back and admire all the beautiful colors as the sun shines on your stain glass window.
